Memory disclosure and service interruption via certificate-chain over-read
Published Jun 14, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
A buffer over-read in Qualcomm Snapdragon Data Modem firmware allows remote attackers to disclose memory or interrupt service. Data Modem SSL and Internet Key Exchange handling reads a certificate chain without adequately validating its bounds, causing an out-of-bounds access. No authentication or user interaction is required; the documented consequences are data disclosure and degraded availability, with no integrity impact.
