CVE-2021-3500Public exploit

Application crash via recursive embedded-file opening

Published Jun 24, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Stack overflow in DjVuLibre 3.5.28 and earlier allows context-dependent attackers to crash applications via a crafted DjVu file. DjVuDocument::get_djvu_file repeatedly opens an embedded file that is already being opened, creating an unchecked recursion cycle until the stack is exhausted. A user or consuming application must process the crafted document, and successful triggering aborts the affected processing application.
