Administrator password reset via unauthenticated SOAP request
Published Jan 13, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Authentication bypass in NETGEAR R7000 1.0.11.116_10.2.100 allows network-adjacent attackers to reset the administrator password. The SOAP request handler performs a password reset without first verifying authentication. No credentials or user interaction are required, but the attacker must reach the router from an adjacent network; a successful reset enables administrative access.
