Code execution via stale polygon Annotation object
Published May 7, 2024 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Use-after-free in Foxit PDF Reader and PDF Editor 11.0.1.49938 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted PDF. Polygon Annotation handling performs operations on an object without validating that it still exists, causing access to freed memory. Exploitation requires the target to visit a malicious page or open a malicious file, and successful code runs in the current process.
