Code execution via JP2 parser out-of-bounds write
Published Jan 13, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Bentley View 10.15.0.75 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a malicious JP2 file. The JP2 parser writes crafted file data past the end of an allocated buffer, corrupting process memory. Exploitation requires a target to open the malicious file or visit a page that causes it to open; successful exploitation runs code in the current process context.
