Code execution via stale 3DS parser object
Published Jan 13, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Use-after-free in Bentley View 10.15.0.75 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through a crafted 3DS file. The 3DS parser performs operations on an object without first validating that it still exists, leaving freed storage accessible during file processing. Execution occurs in the current process and requires the target to visit a malicious page or open a malicious file.
