CVE-2021-34830

Unauthenticated code execution via Cookie buffer overflow

Published Jul 15, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Stack-based buffer overflow in D-Link DAP-1330 1.13B01 BETA and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code via an HTTP Cookie header. The splite_cookie() function in libhnap.so passes the attacker-controlled uid cookie value to strcpy without checking its length against the fixed-size stack buffer. The HNAP endpoint is reachable without authentication only from the LAN side under intended deployment, so successful exploitation grants code execution in the device context.
