CVE-2021-34775

LLDP database corruption via missing length validation

Published Oct 6, 2021 · Updated Nov 7, 2024

Buffer overflow in Cisco Small Business 220 Series Smart Switches allows attackers to corrupt the LLDP database via crafted packets. The LLDP parser omits message-length validation and reads beyond valid packet data, corrupting entries in the internal LLDP database. Exploitation requires the same Layer 2 broadcast domain and an enabled LLDP service, which Cisco enables by default on LAN ports.
