Administrator access via replayed session credentials
Published Nov 4, 2021 · Updated Nov 7, 2024
Session credential replay in Cisco Small Business Smart and Managed Switches allows remote attackers to obtain administrator access. The web-based management interface fails to expire valid session credentials, allowing intercepted tokens to be replayed later against the same device. Exploitation requires a man-in-the-middle position during a valid user session and grants administrator privileges in the management interface.
