Unauthenticated service interruption via socket-failure mishandling
Published Sep 9, 2021 · Updated Nov 7, 2024
Denial of service in Cisco IOS XR Software allows remote attackers to exhaust packet memory or crash the IP SLA process. The IP SLA responder and TWAMP paths mishandle socket creation failures while processing crafted protocol packets. The responder or responder twamp configuration must be enabled; exhaustion can disrupt routing protocols, while a process failure crashes IP SLA.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
