SYSTEM code execution via untrusted executable launch
Published Jul 15, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Privilege escalation in IDrive RemotePC before 7.6.48 on Windows allows local users to execute attacker-controlled code as SYSTEM. The public disclosure states that RemotePC launches an attacker-controlled executable but does not identify the responsible component or input path. Any local low-privileged account can therefore obtain full SYSTEM execution, affecting confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
