Personal Key disclosure via reversible log encryption
Published Jul 15, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Information disclosure in IDrive RemotePC before 7.6.48 on Windows allows local users to recover the system Personal Key from logs. The application writes an encrypted copy of the key to world-readable %PROGRAMDATA% log files and protects it with a reversible hard-coded static key. Any locally authenticated account can read and decrypt the logged value, exposing the credential used to access the system remotely.
