Personal Key disclosure via reversible substitution cipher
Published Jul 15, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Information disclosure in iDrive RemotePC before 7.6.48 on Windows allows man-in-the-middle attackers to recover a system's Personal Key. During a LAN connection attempt, the Windows client transmits the Personal Key over the network after applying only a reversible substitution cipher. The attacker must occupy a man-in-the-middle position on the LAN path; the reported impact is limited to disclosure of the Personal Key.
