Database disclosure via unauthenticated dashboard SQL execution
Published Nov 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
SQL injection in Hitachi Vantara Pentaho Business Analytics Server through 9.1 allows remote attackers to read connected database data. The dashboards editor executes the attacker-controlled query parameter against the data source named in the same HTTP request. A permissive require-cfg.js access rule makes the endpoint reachable without authentication, exposing any database available through a configured Pentaho data source.
