Script execution via unescaped request path
Published Aug 16, 2021 · Updated May 5, 2025
Reflected XSS in WP Fountain 1.5.9 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary web scripts through a crafted request URL. In wp-fountain.php, the plugin inserts the attacker-controlled $_SERVER['PHP_SELF'] request-path value into generated markup without neutralizing script content. Exploitation requires a user to follow the crafted URL, after which the payload runs in that user's browser under the affected site's origin.
