Script execution via unencoded map parameter
Published Aug 16, 2021 · Updated May 5, 2025
Reflected XSS in the Scribble Maps WordPress plugin 1.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute scripts via the map parameter. The plugin’s includes/admin.php code places the map parameter into an administrative page response without context-appropriate output encoding. Exploitation requires a victim to follow a crafted request, and the injected script runs in that victim’s browser context.
