Authenticated arbitrary email via login-only REST authorization
Published Sep 22, 2021 · Updated Mar 31, 2025
Incorrect authorization in Saturday Drive Ninja Forms 3.5.7 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to send arbitrary email. The email-action REST route accepts any logged-in user because its permission callback checks only login status, while trigger_email_action builds the recipient, subject, and body from request values. Any WordPress account can abuse the site's mail identity to send attacker-chosen messages to arbitrary recipients for phishing.
