CVE-2021-34641Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated stored XSS via processPut

Published Aug 16, 2021 · Updated May 5, 2025

Cross-site scripting in SEOPress 5.0.0 through 5.0.3 allows remote authenticated users to inject arbitrary web scripts through the WordPress plugin. The processPut function in src/Actions/Api/TitleDescriptionMeta.php stores attacker-controlled title, description, or metadata values without adequate output neutralization, causing scripts to execute when affected content is viewed. Exploitation requires a WordPress account with access to the relevant API and a victim to load the stored content; consequences include limited cross-site data disclosure and modification within the browser security context.
