Local privilege escalation via uncontrolled DLL search
Published Apr 27, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Uncontrolled DLL search in Lenovo PC Manager before 3.0.400.3252 allows local users to escalate privileges via DLL loading. The application loads a DLL through a search path that can resolve attacker-controlled code, but Lenovo has not disclosed the executable, DLL name, or searched directory. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access and executes the substituted library with the application's elevated privileges.
