Code execution via project-file path traversal
Published May 11, 2022 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Relative path traversal in XDPPro 3.5.1 and earlier allows local users to write arbitrary files through a crafted project file. XDPPro extracts ZIP-based .xdp entries into its installation-directory temp folder without containing traversal paths, allowing entries to escape the folder. Exploitation requires an operator to open the file or upload it from an infected Xinje PLC; writes with administrator-level program permissions can enable code execution, disclosure, or service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
