Memory corruption via crafted diagnostic service packets
Published Nov 9, 2022 · Updated May 1, 2025
Out-of-bounds write in WAGO I/O-Check Service through FW18 Patch 2 allows remote attackers to corrupt memory with a crafted packet. The service processes a specially crafted packet containing OS commands and writes beyond its intended memory boundary; no finer parser or function detail is public. No authentication or user interaction is required, and exploitation can crash the diagnostic tool or manipulate the device.
