CVE-2021-34405

Local denial of service via unchecked TEE_Malloc return

Published Jan 18, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Unchecked return value in NVIDIA SHIELD TV before SE 9.0 allows local users to cause denial of service via TrustZone TEE_Malloc. TrustZone’s TEE_Malloc function fails to check an allocation return value, then dereferences the resulting null pointer. Exploitation requires a local low-privilege account on the device and can interrupt availability without reported confidentiality or integrity impact.
