CVE-2021-34404

Data compromise and service disruption via DMA

Published Jan 18, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Improper access control in NVIDIA SHIELD TV before SE 9.0 allows physically proximate attackers to disrupt service and read or alter data. When BROM fails, it does not limit access to AHB-DMA, permitting operations beyond BROM's security boundary. Exploitation requires unprivileged physical access and can compromise confidentiality, integrity, and availability beyond that boundary.
