Application hang via malformed BMP infinite loop
Published Jul 13, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Infinite-loop denial of service in Siemens JT2Go and Teamcenter Visualization before 13.2 allows local users to hang the application. BMP_Loader.dll fails to validate user-supplied BMP data, so a malformed file traps the parser in an infinite loop and consumes excessive resources. Opening the crafted file requires user interaction; the documented consequence is application unavailability without confidentiality or integrity impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
