Code execution via PAR heap buffer overflow
Published Jul 13, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Heap-based buffer overflow in Siemens JT2Go, Solid Edge, and Teamcenter Visualization allows attackers to execute code via PAR files. The plmxmlAdapterSE70.dll PAR parser copies user-supplied data into a fixed-length heap buffer without validating its length, causing an out-of-bounds write. Exploitation requires a user to open a crafted PAR file or visit content that supplies one, and successful exploitation runs code in the current process.
