Code execution via SGI parser out-of-bounds write
Published Jul 13, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Siemens JT2Go and Teamcenter Visualization before 13.2 allows attackers to execute code via a crafted SGI file. BMP_loader.dll fails to validate user-supplied SGI data before writing past the end of an allocated structure. Exploitation requires a user to open a malicious file or visit a malicious page, and resulting code runs in the current process context.
