Information disclosure via TIFF buffer over-read
Published Jul 13, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Out-of-bounds reads in Siemens JT2Go and Teamcenter Visualization before 13.2 allow attackers to disclose process memory through TIFF files. Tiff_Loader.dll fails to validate user-controlled TIFF data before reading beyond the end of an allocated buffer. A target must open a malicious file or visit a malicious page; the direct consequence is disclosure in the current process, not data modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
