Code execution via out-of-bounds GIF buffer read
Published Jul 13, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Gif_loader.dll before 13.2 allows remote attackers to execute code via GIF files in Siemens JT2Go and Teamcenter Visualization. The library fails to validate attacker-controlled GIF data before reading beyond allocated buffer boundaries during parsing. Exploitation requires a user to open the file or visit a page that supplies it, and resulting code runs in the context of the current process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
