Administrator access via tokenless state-changing requests
Published Feb 24, 2023 · Updated Mar 12, 2025
Cross-site request forgery in taoCMS 3.0.2 allows remote attackers to create an administrator account through admin.php. The admin.php handler accepts state-changing POST parameters for account creation and password updates under the administrator's session without validating a CSRF token. Exploitation requires a logged-in administrator to open a malicious page, after which remote attackers can add an administrator account or replace the administrator's password.
