CVE-2021-34145Public exploit

Firmware crash via invalid LMP max-slot type

Published Sep 7, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Denial of service in Cypress WICED BT stack 2.9.0 and earlier allows physically proximate attackers to crash CYW20735B1 firmware. The Bluetooth Classic link manager accepts an LMP_max_slot packet with an invalid Baseband packet type and LT_ADDRESS after link setup instead of rejecting it. An attacker must be within Bluetooth Classic radio range and complete link setup; one crafted LMP packet then crashes and restarts the device.
