Authenticated arbitrary file deletion via path traversal
Published Jun 15, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Path traversal in LaikeTui 3.5.0 allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary files through article modification. The Article modification handler uses attacker-controlled uploadImg, oldpic, and imgurl path values for file deletion without confining the resolved path to the intended directory. Background access is required; deleting data/install.lock removes the reinstall guard and enables attacker-controlled reinstallation, while other writable application files can also be deleted.
