Unauthenticated command execution via metadata concatenation
Published Jun 1, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
OS command injection in Turistforeningen node-s3-uploader 2.0.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands. The metadata() path concatenates attacker-controlled metadata into an operating-system command without neutralizing shell metacharacters. Exploitation requires a consuming application to pass attacker-controlled metadata, and injected commands run with the Node.js process's privileges.
