CVE-2021-3393Network attack vector

Denied-column disclosure via partition constraint errors

Published Apr 1, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Information disclosure in PostgreSQL before 13.2, before 12.6, and before 11.11 allows remote authenticated users to read denied column values. A partition constraint violation during UPDATE includes a value from a column for which the role lacks SELECT permission in the returned error message. Exploitation requires UPDATE permission on a partitioned table and discloses only otherwise unreadable column data through query errors.
