Denial of service via pool_disabled_solvable overflow
Published Sep 2, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Buffer overflow in libsolv before 0.7.17 allows attackers to cause a denial of service via the pool_disabled_solvable function. The function in src/repo.h performs an out-of-bounds write when processing crafted solvable-pool state, corrupting heap memory. A remote unauthenticated attacker can trigger the condition through an exposed libsolv-consuming interface, interrupting service without disclosed confidentiality or integrity impact.
