Local privilege escalation through undisclosed Event Tracing flaw
Published Jul 14, 2021 · Updated Aug 10, 2026
Elevation of privilege in Windows Event Tracing in affected Windows 10 and Windows Server builds allows local users to gain higher privileges. Microsoft has not published the affected function or the operation it performs incorrectly on attacker-controlled input. Exploitation requires an existing low-privileged local account and can grant control at a higher privilege level.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
