Privilege escalation in Cuppa CMS before 31 Jan 2021 allows remote authenticated users to gain Super Admin access via a crafted POST request. The Profile function processes a client-added user_group_id_field value of 1 during an account update, assigning the account to the Super Admin group. A low-privilege account and access to the profile update are required; successful exploitation grants full administrative control of the CMS.
