Superuser takeover via remote row-count query injection
Published Sep 15, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
SQL injection in SAP S/4HANA and DMIS Mobile Plug-In allows remote authenticated users to read and write database data through RFC. The remote-enabled IUUC_RECON_RC_COUNT_TABLE_BIG function passes attacker-controlled IT_WHERE_CLAUSE content to the ADBC native SQL interface without neutralization, permitting stacked queries across SAP client boundaries. Exploitation requires S_DMIS display authorization plus S_RFC access, but successful queries can overwrite SAP* credentials and obtain Superuser control.
