Session credential theft via unencoded browser output
Published Jun 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Web Dynpro ABAP on SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP allows remote authenticated users to steal session credentials. The BC-WD-ABA component fails to encode user-controlled values before placing them in generated browser content, so injected markup or JavaScript executes in a victim's authenticated browser context. Exploitation requires low-privileged access and user interaction, and the reported impact is limited to session credential theft and browser-side content modification.
