CVE-2021-33598Network attack vector

Antivirus engine crash during fuzzed file scanning

Published Aug 23, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Denial of service in F-Secure Atlant's SAVAPI component in all versions allows remote attackers to crash the antivirus engine. The disclosed mechanism is limited to SAVAPI crashing while it scans fuzzed files; no specific parser, file format, or failing operation is public. Exploitation requires a fuzzed file to reach the SAVAPI scan path and interrupts the antivirus engine rather than the host operating system.
