Address-bar spoofing via inconsistent location display
Published Nov 2, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Address-bar spoofing in NAVER Whale Browser for iOS before 1.14.0 allows remote attackers to disguise a page's true address. The browser's address-bar interface inconsistently represents a page's location, allowing attacker-controlled content to obscure the actual address. A victim must view attacker-controlled content in the affected mobile browser; the spoofed security indicator can support phishing, but no code execution or data access is reported.
