Regular expression denial of service in Apache Roller before 6.0.2 allows remote attackers to interrupt the server via a crafted Referer. Roller's referrer-processing logic builds and evaluates a regular expression from the Referer header, request URL, and query string, allowing catastrophic backtracking. No authentication or browser is required; one crafted HTTP request can consume server-side processing resources and interrupt service.
