Authenticated root command execution via unsanitized filename
Published Sep 13, 2021 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
OS command injection in Geutebrück G-Cam/E2 and G-Code firmware allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code. The tmpapp.cgi handler passes the appfile.filename parameter into an operating-system command without neutralizing shell metacharacters. Administrator access to the web interface is required for this flaw alone, and successful commands run as root on the appliance.
