Authenticated code execution via evnprofile.cgi stack overflow
Published Sep 13, 2021 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Stack overflow in affected Geutebrück G-Cam/E2 and G-Code 1.12 firmware allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code. The evnprofile.cgi handler copies the profile parameter into a fixed-size stack buffer without checking its length. Operator access reaches this CGI directly, and successful ROP executes commands in the appliance's root web-server context.
