Authenticated web bypass via hostname traffic confusion
Published Jun 25, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Authentication bypass in Weidmüller IE-WL(T)-BL-AP-CL and IE-WL(T)-VL-AP-BR-CL devices through firmware V1.16.18 and V1.11.10 allows remote authenticated users to bypass web authentication via SNMP-triggered hostname processing. The hostname-processing path treats selected remote traffic as local traffic when a specially configured device hostname is present, causing the web interface to skip authentication checks. Access requires authenticated SNMP requests and the crafted hostname condition; successful exploitation bypasses web login and can expose or alter management functions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
