Authenticated shell access via password overwrite
Published Jun 25, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Improper access control in Weidmüller Industrial WLAN devices allows remote authenticated users to overwrite passwords via a crafted username. The iw_webs account-settings handler accepts the username and overwrites an existing account password without enforcing account-change authorization. Low-privilege authentication is required, after which the changed credentials grant remote shell access as the targeted user.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
