Stored XSS via unsanitized chat room names
Published Nov 22, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in OX App Suite 7.10.5 allows attackers to execute JavaScript in another chat participant's browser via a room name. OX Chat accepts JavaScript fragments as room names and inserts those names into other participants' DOMs without sufficient sanitization. An attacker must share the victim's OX context and invite the victim to the crafted room; execution can hijack the victim's session or trigger unwanted interface actions.
