CVE-2021-33394Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Account hijacking via unreplaced login session ID

Published May 27, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Session fixation in CubeCart 6.4.2 allows remote authenticated users to hijack a victim's account through an attacker-chosen cookie. The user and administrator login paths bind the authenticated account to the existing session ID instead of regenerating it. Exploitation requires planting a known cookie before the victim logs in; that cookie then grants the victim's account privileges.
