Heap buffer overflow in makevar in dpic 2021.04.10 allows context-dependent attackers to overwrite heap memory via crafted diagram input. The makevar function in dpic.y copies ln bytes into the 4096-byte chbuf at chbufi without checking the remaining destination capacity. A process must parse attacker-supplied diagram input; the reproducer demonstrates an AddressSanitizer abort after the overwrite, while code execution is not demonstrated.
