Stored XSS via unescaped site group name
Published Aug 4, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Liferay Portal 7.2.1 through 7.3.4 and DXP 7.2 before fix pack 9 allows remote attackers to run browser scripts. The Fragment view page inserts the site group name into HTML without escaping the value supplied through the Site Admin name parameter. High-privileged access is required to store a crafted name, and another user must view the collection page, allowing browser-visible data to be read or changed.
