Script execution via reflected portlet resource parameter
Published Aug 3, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Reflected XSS in Liferay Portal 7.1.0 through 7.3.2 allows remote attackers to inject script through a crafted portlet parameter. The Portlet Configuration module reflects the _com_liferay_portlet_configuration_css_web_portlet_PortletConfigurationCSSPortlet_portletResource value into the Look and Feel response without neutralizing script or HTML. The issue also affects Liferay DXP 7.1 before fix pack 19 and 7.2 before fix pack 7; a victim must open the crafted request, enabling script execution in the portal origin.
